When you enroll in an Aetna dental plan, you agree to pay a monthly premium so that you can receive access to your benefits. These are often enticing and reassuring should a serious problem develop; however, dental insurance companies like Aetna want you to get ahead of any problems. This is why they provide 100% coverage for preventive services like dental checkups and cleanings, X-rays, and even fluoride treatments.

Not only does this allow you to take better care of your smile year-round, but it also minimizes the risk of developing more complex problems that require extensive and often costly treatment.

But cavities can form, and injuries can occur, which is why Aetna also provides 80% for minor restorative problems (i.e., dental fillings) and 50% coverage for major restorative treatment (i.e., dental crowns, bridges, tooth extractions).

To get these types of benefits, though, you must choose to see an in-network dentist like Dr. Bartusiak. By working alongside the insurer, we can minimize your out-of-pocket expenses as opposed to those who choose to see us but do not have a dental insurance company that we have a contract with. We are still happy to serve these patients and will always provide exceptional care; however, it will be necessary that the individual pay the remaining fee of the insurance company as well as that of the dentist’s office when undergoing treatment.
