Meet Dr. Tyler Whitfield

Dr. Tyler Whitfield is proud to serve the community he has always called home. Born and raised just down the road in Houston, Pennsylvania, Dr. Whitfield has spent his life in the area and is honored to care for the smiles of the friends, families, and neighbors who make this community so special.

His path to dentistry began with two years of hands-on experience as a dental assistant, where he developed a strong foundation in patient care and clinical dentistry before attending dental school. Today, Dr. Whitfield has more than six years of experience in the dental field and is dedicated to providing exceptional care with a personal touch.

A proud Chartiers-Houston High School alumnus, Dr. Whitfield comes from a family deeply connected to the local community. Both of his parents have been longtime educators in the school district. He continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh, where he spent eight years earning a unique joint degree in Computer Science and Biology before completing his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree.

Dr. Whitfield’s background in both technology and healthcare gives him a unique perspective on dentistry. He enjoys incorporating innovative tools and techniques into patient care, helping make treatments more efficient, comfortable, and effective.

When he’s not in the office, Dr. Whitfield enjoys staying active through distance running and weightlifting. He’s also a passionate Pittsburgh sports fan, especially when it comes to Pitt football. In his spare time, he enjoys coding, working on DIY electronics projects, and exploring the endless possibilities of 3D printing. His love for technology and problem-solving extends beyond dentistry and into many aspects of his life.

What Dr. Whitfield enjoys most about dentistry is the ability to make an immediate and meaningful impact on people’s lives. Whether he is helping a patient get out of pain, restoring oral health, or creating a more confident smile, he finds great fulfillment in providing solutions that improve quality of life. Seeing patients leave the office happier and more confident than when they arrived is what motivates him every day.

Dr. Whitfield was born on December 31, 1999, making him the last baby born in Washington County before the new millennium. That means he’s officially a proud 90s kid!
